What's in a name?

BGC is named in honor of B. Gerald Cantor, who in 1945 founded Cantor Fitzgerald, a leading financial services firm now focused on institutional services.

A true pioneer, his vision of unparalleled customer service and innovation in trading gave shape to the inter-dealer fixed income markets and helped make them into the huge liquidity pools they are today.

His legacy of innovation and careful attention to customer service will be an important part of BGC's heritage, and a proud tradition that will be carried on.
